How Machine Connect works
Turn off your refrigerator and heater while on your way to the boat. Or switch off the fuel pump in your vehicle remotely for extra theft protection. You can also receive customized notifications if, for example, your bilge pump or fuel pump is activated. All of this with Machine Connect.
Machine Connect is included in NorthTracker’s theft protection and is a tracking device. Alerts are sent via SMS, push notifications, and email if the tracking unit starts moving or leaves a defined safety zone. But Machine Connect can do much more than that.
Machine Connect can also be used to remotely turn off the fuel pump or power supply.
You can also connect it to a magnetic door contact, for example on your storage compartment, so that an alert is sent if the door is opened.
How it works technically
To use these functions with Machine Connect, you need to connect a relay between the device and what you want to control, for example between the 12V battery and a heater. Then connect Machine Connect’s digital output and a 12V battery. Machine Connect has two digital outputs.
If you want alerts when something is connected to Machine Connect’s digital input, connect the device you want alerts from and activate the alarm in the system. This way, you will know whether it was the door or the fuel pump that was triggered.
Like NorthTracker’s other GPS trackers, you can create safety zones for Machine Connect. If the GPS unit moves outside your selected safety zones, you will receive an alert via SMS or email. It is a theft protection system that works across Europe. The device logs position so you can see exactly where it has been, increasing the chance of recovering it. Machine Connect also logs history, so you can see where it has moved or whether it has remained stationary at different locations to detect possible unloading.
Machine Connect can also be used in security systems. If something happens, anyone with login access can always see where you are and act quickly against a threat. It is approved by the Swedish Theft Protection Association (SSF) and can be connected to the AVARN Alarm Centre for dispatching security guards.
